Burseldon Gigs are sturdy flat bottomed boats that can be rowed in shallow waters. They were originally designed to collect oysters from local waters but Olive is used for leisure and competitive rowing. She can be rowed with up to five people including the cox. She has been rowed in all local waters from West Sussex , Langstone Harbour and Southampton . She has been taken across the Solent and into local rivers like the Arun and the Hamble. She rows under the Tudor Sailing Club flag.
