      • Holding yard log 306 in the Percy Mitchell book "A Boatbuilder's Story", places First & Third in the last 19 boats built by Percy Mitchell, of c. 324 vessels throughout his career. Following a recent and extensive refit in 2026 and overhaul of the rigging she was relaunched for the first time in decades for Falmouth Classics 2026.

Original fittings and rig setup have been retained throughout including sails, bronze roller furling mainsail gear and mainsheet horse, together with fractional bermudan rig on douglas-fir spars, mahogany rudder and oak tiller. The original galvanised centre plate has survived from 1963 including the painted yard stamp.

Her name is thought to originate from the First and Third Trinity Boat Club (Cambridge) or similar rowing reference, likely through her original owner's association/interest as a Cambridge rowing professor. The original hand-written invoice is still held, detailing every component fitted to the boat with prices. She is a class design by naval architect Alan Buchanan but the search continues to identify the class!
