      • The St Ayles Skiff was built by a group of enthusiasts in Bristol England, from a design by Ian Oughtred based on a Scottish Herring boat that was found in the Fisheries Museum Anstruther Scotland. She is 22 feet long and 5 foot 8 inches wide designed for 4 rowers and a coxswain. The Scottish Coastal Rowing Association has promoted the building of this boat in communities based around the coast of Scotland. Many examples have also been built in America, New Zealand, Australia as well as Europe.
